About Boston

Your home away from home.

Boston is the capital and largest city in Massachusetts. Founded in 1625, Boston is the site of many key historical events in America’s foundational history from the Boston Tea Party, to the historic Midnight Ride of Paul Revere announcing the arrival of the British forces.

Massachusetts and Boston are also known as the state and city of many firsts: the first public park, the first subway system, the first public library, and the first state to legalize same-sex marriage.

Boston is home to a strong and vibrant food scene, with great restaurants throughout the city with many situated along the waterfront, as well as in any number of our neighborhoods such as Back Bay and historic Cambridge. Boston is also home to a strong pub and microbrewery scene which is waiting for you to explore. Craft beers or ciders? We have you covered!

We are thrilled to partner with Meet Boston to introduce you to our city. Visit their NORAM 2025 hub for recommendations on food and attractions, tips on how to get around the city, and much more.

Things to do outside of Boston

For participants with the desire to make the 2025 NORAM Championship the trip of a lifetime there are nearby destinations to explore, like Salem and Provincetown.

Salem is only one hour north of Boston, a beautiful and historic port city. This queer-friendly city is easily walkable, with great shops, restaurants, and waterfront views. You can also explore museums and shops that preserve the history of the practice and regulation of witchcraft in Salem.

Cape Cod is another nearby destination, most notably Provincetown. Provincetown is a former artist colony and queer landmark, that is a 90-minute ferry or 2-hour drive (with no traffic!) from Boston.

No matter what you are looking for, Massachusetts has something for everyone.

Boston’s Logan International Airport makes it easy to get to with major US and Canadian airlines offering direct flights. Amtrak also connects Boston to many major cities.
